Reading the bars. Every lens sits on a shared logarithmic scale from 9mm to 800mm. Zooms draw a bar, primes draw a tick. In the kit panel, filled blocks are continuous zoom coverage and green ticks are primes, which cover one focal length only and do not close a gap.

Retailer links. Click any lens to open its detail drawer. The buttons run a search on each retailer for that exact brand and model rather than jumping to a product page, so they keep working when a listing moves or sells out. Prices are not live. Type what you find into the price field and it sticks, which gives you a shortlist you can compare in one place.

Two things to check before buying. Several budget brands sell near-identical APS-C and full-frame primes at the same focal lengths, so confirm the image circle on the spec sheet rather than the product photo. And third-party autofocus lenses are generally capped at 15fps burst, skip in-camera breathing compensation, and update firmware over USB rather than through the body.
